While Brays Island boasts an array of premier amenities, our most treasured asset is the abundance of pristine coastal land. In fact, with a limited number of homesites, 94 percent of our 5,500 acres are held in perpetuity as shared spaces. Spaces to hunt, ride, fish, shoot, golf, explore, get inspired, and retreat to nature.
Recent years have seen many families leaving cities, drawn to a more rural lifestyle, lower-density living, and an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. Driven largely by the desire for space, with the ability to work remotely, and access to virtually anything one may need via ecommerce, the demand for a rural lifestyle remains strong.
The drive to Brays Island from neighboring Beaufort, Savannah or Charleston is a great way to decompress before you even arrive at the gate. You may find yourself passing charming country stores, historic markers and ruins, winding tidal creeks with sculpturesque snags, and golden marshes with wading seabirds.
As you arrive and drive along the main road flanked by grand oaks dripping with Spanish moss, you may see deer meandering near the woods’ edge or an equestrian enjoying the 60 miles of trails that flow seamlessly throughout the community. As you continue to your home, your drive down the street yields only glimpses of other homes, and this is by design. The 1-acre circular homesites at Brays Island are designed to accentuate the views—there is no “front” or “back” yard. Each home is naturally “screened” by foliage, and designed to exist in harmony with nature.
Whether Brays’ owners are returning to their home or driving in for the weekend, they can enjoy the best of both worlds, as they can “choose their experience,” and it can be as private or social as they desire. One day may find them enjoying a community event like the Ride and Dine or Triathlon, and another, perched in a deer stand or out on the river with not a soul in sight.
One can enjoy true privacy with all they need right at their fingertips thanks to our concierge-level owner services including wine delivery, catering, grocery delivery, dog training and boarding, horse boarding, and gun cleaning. They can even swing by Brays Island’s onsite garden to pick up the season’s bounty.
