One intangible but significant benefit to owning property at Brays is that you are surrounded by people with shared interests and similar means. This pays dividends here at Brays and beyond. Consider the following scenario. Your spouse is out of town and you want to shoot a round of sporting clays. In a metropolitan setting, finding a shooting partner at relatively short notice can be a challenge. At Brays…not so much. By the way, at Brays this applies equally to both husbands and wives!
“I love that I attended one oyster roast with my wife and we were off to the races,” says Marc Montville, an owner at Brays Island. “We didn’t know a soul here prior to acquiring property. Fast forward several years, and as I look at who we knock around with the most, there are a lot of Brays owners on the list.”
“Our owners are a well-traveled group,” said Paul Burton, owner and broker-in-charge at Brays Island Realty. Many of them seem to have explored virtually every corner of the earth, and they often do this with fellow Brays owners.
Several groups have really lived out this reality during the summer of 2022.
“We had a wonderful time touring France last month with General Walt and Sandi Boomer, and Chris and Amy Dorsey” said owner Steven Hicks. “Shortly thereafter, Caroline and I accompanied the Dorseys down to Tsimane Lodge in Bolivia. We spent a week catching golden dorado in the clear jungle streams – two entirely different but highly enjoyable experiences.”
Since purchasing property at Brays four years ago, the Hicks have traveled with fellow owners to Alaska, Canada, Bolivia, France, Southern Africa, Argentina and the Bahamas, as well as several stateside hunting and fishing venues!
Though not acquainted prior to purchasing property at Brays, Hope Ingram and Jane Lightcap have developed a great friendship since meeting several years ago. They have a ball together while traveling with their husbands Mark and Jeff (who typically have tunnel vision pursuing critters) in Argentina, Africa, Europe and beyond. They recently joined forces and now share a home in England (which just happens to be near one of the finest estates for high-driven birds). The ladies have plenty of fun digressions while the gents are out getting humbled by driven pheasants, seemingly in orbit! “It’s great to meet like-minded individuals with whom you share common interests,” according to Mark. "Connecting the dots on Brays is very organic, and then you have families that spend quality time together at Brays, around the country and beyond."
It is also nice that this concept cuts across a wide range of activities. Equestrian enthusiasts, shooters, hunters, golfers, anglers, and nature lovers can all plug into the Brays social network and find their group.
