At Brays Island, 94% of the 5,500-acre plantation is held in common, creating a shared sanctuary in the heart of the Lowcountry. Riding through the property on horseback offers one of the most immersive ways to explore its natural beauty.

Our equestrian program is thoughtfully designed to welcome riders of all experience levels. Whether you're an experienced equestrian or new to riding, Brays Island offers a unique opportunity to connect with horses, the outdoors, and a supportive community of fellow owners.

Room to Roam

With approximately 60 miles of scenic riding trails winding through the property, Brays Island offers an extraordinary setting for riders to enjoy the natural world from the saddle. More than 100 acres of community paddocks provide ample space for grazing and socializing, while our facilities can accommodate approximately 80 horses.

No Horse? No Problem.

You don’t have to own a horse to ride at Brays Island. The plantation has multiple horses that are shared among owners. It is possible for Brays residents begin their equestrian experience by riding plantation horses and then purchasing their own if they decide that riding is a good fit.
