An introduction to our valued staff and key people here at Brays, this blog series offers insight into the people that help shape our tight-knit community each and every day.
Chad McClure is a real estate professional by trade and an outdoor sporting enthusiast by nature. He came to us eight years ago with unique insight into the sporting world and to this day is an integral part of the real estate office and community here at Brays.
Get to know Chad, his role here, and his favorite parts of Brays Island.
What is your background?
I was in the publishing industry before joining the Real Estate office here at Brays. I worked for Gray’s Sporting Journal, along with several other fly fishing publications. This experience provided a good transition to working at Brays Island Realty, as I made contributions on both the sales and editorial sides.
I actually visited Brays years before I started working here while preparing to publish a story on fly fishing for cobia in Gray’s Sporting Journal. I was awestruck then, and as I drove down the alley of oaks on the way home, I remember thinking I was leaving one of the most beautiful places I’d ever been. After nearly 8 years of driving through the gates daily, that drive remains just as stunning.
What are some of the things you do for owners?
I’m a resource for prospective buyers and owners alike. My role is to help buyers understand what makes Brays so unique, and then to help new owners really get to know the lay of the land and take full advantage of all that is at their fingertips.
While my primary job is to work with prospective buyers, I develop relationships that do not end at closing. I’ve had the privilege of meeting and getting to know some wonderful people that I enjoy seeing on a daily basis at Brays Island. It’s a community of friends that share the common love for the outdoors and sporting pursuits.
What is your favorite thing about working at Brays and the community here?
The highlight of my role here at Brays is the opportunity to get to know a wide variety of very interesting people from a myriad of backgrounds and parts of the globe, all of whom share a common bond, which is a love for the outdoors.
My favorite thing about Brays is actually the diversity of activities available. I keep pointing dogs, so it’s nice to be able to run dogs in the morning with guests, quickly change clothes and be back in the office for the day. My wife and two young sons are all drawn to the outdoors and the sporting lifestyle, so having the ability to optimize my free time with my family is a wonderful thing.
